Selfish Moms is a nonprofit support group created to remind mothers that taking care of themselves is not selfish—it’s necessary. What began in the front yard as a small circle of moms coming together to share their struggles and support one another has blossomed into a growing movement. Today, we empower mothers to prioritize their mental, emotional and physical wellness without guilt through workshops, events, and community-driven programs.

Over the years, Selfish Moms has touched the lives of hundreds of women, helping them rediscover balance, strength, and joy in motherhood. Our mission is simple but powerful: to nurture the nurturers, so that every mom feels valued, supported and equipped to thrive.

Selfish Mom (sĕl′fĭsh mŏm) noun

  1. A mother who seeks out and concentrates on her own advantage, pleasure, or well-being in order to achieve the wholeness of personhood that allows her to be a sustainable source of health and well-being for those within her care.

  2. A mother who prioritizes her mental, emotional, and physical well-being without guilt, understanding that self-care is essential to caring for others.

  3. A member of a supportive community of women dedicated to wellness, growth, and balance in motherhood.

Driven by the community's need for support, our founder's personal experience and a passion for self-care, Selfish Moms was born. We believe that every mother deserves the space to focus on themselves; finding a balance that nurtures not only their own health but also their ability to care for their families.

What do we offer?

Selfish Moms offers a supportive community where mothers can focus on self-care, personal growth and mental wellness without guilt. Through workshops, group events and shared experiences, we help moms reconnect with themselves, find balance and build meaningful connections with other women. Our goal is to empower moms to relax, relate and recharge—because when moms take care of themselves, everyone around them thrives.

Selfish Moms is a non-profit group run by volunteers. Participation in our event is voluntarily, and we provide goods and services as they are donated and available. We are not medical professionals, and any opinions expressed at a Selfish Moms event is shared solely at the discretion of the individual for the express intention of offering helpful experience and hope to the community. Individual opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect the vision or mission of Selfish Moms. Childcare is provided at the same time as the event by donated services or volunteers. Selfish Moms does its best to provide professional childcare, but it is not always available. It is the sole responsibility of parents and guardians to decide if the childcare offered is suitable for their children.
